About Us

Louise is a Holistic Therapist & been practising therapies for over 23 years. This includes Reflexology, Massage, Aromatherapy & Infant Massage Instructor

Also specialising in helping clients with foot & leg issues due to her experience in massaging her son who was born with severe Bilateral Talipes (Clubfoot)

The international charity "STEPS" featured  Maxs' & Louises' story, you can view it here:

Louise has created Aromatherapy Oil blends to help massage, give pain relief, stimulate & increase mobility & flexibility. Through early data collected from research; it appears to help with Arthritis conditions too in areas such as knees & wrists & ankles.

Born in the UK Louise has always had a very keen interest in healing &  good health, a characteristic she attributes to her Mother who was a full-time nurse. As she grew up in a large family whenever there were accidents; Louise was always No.1 helper, even though next to the youngest!

Conscientious & professionally orientated, Louise strives to focus on Continual Professional development C.P.D & keeps up to date with industry standards following a distinct 'Code of Ethics' in all her therapy work. As a member of the internationally acclaimed 'Federation of Holistic Therapists' F.H.T. Louise won 2012 Best "student case study" for treatments carried out on one of her autistic clients. December 2019 saw Louise being nominated as a finalist for "Best Complimentary Therapist of the year award" for her pioneering aromatherapy therapy treatments & case study research into developing massage for people with Arthritis & Clubfoot. The results obtained are very promising for future treatments of these conditions & associated issues such as inflexibility of joints, underdeveloped muscles, restrictive mobility etc.

Also a co-ordinator for Derbyshire Local support group for therapists for last 6-7 years &  3 years ago was approached by F.H.T. to become one of their Ambassadors presenting to colleges & medical institutions. Presented at her old college &  they did a press release which you can view here:

CLUBFOOT CORNER...

I am so passionate about sharing the skills I developed in massaging my sons' feet, (& still do), with a view to maintaining his foot/ankle/knee/leg mobility & flexibility because the evidence DOES suggest benefits on many levels. With  many  other professionals agreeing I took a bold step of submitting a paper to the Doctors & specialists who had an International meet  in India, (which has highest numbers of Clubfoot: approx 150 per week) to discuss "Clubfoot" including lots of different topics. You can read it below along with some basic facts about Clubfoot,  my sons' case & a video explaining what I did for my son.

Current treatments via Ponseti methods still use shoes with metal bar & brace attached which they alter  to turn the feet, initially constructed in the late 1800's, re-purposed by Dr Ponseti in the 1950's. They cast the feet, do operations, use boots & bar for maintenance  after the correction. Parents are naturally concerned about the discomfort /pain this causes; but they've helped to turn the feet so this is what they use. There is 'no cure'. Often a high rate of relapse, & foot issues in adulthood.

We can help to  bridge the huge gap here, by sharing techniques & massage with the oils to help provide some much needed comfort & also to positively affect the medical journey outcomes, involving the parents & teaching them gives them invaluable skills & the power  to affect their childs' life. Some cases may not be suitable for the Aromatherapy  massage treatments; but some will.

Future vision does include looking for sponsorship/investments to roll out a basic system to help educate the parents/carers/health teams/  especially in 3rd world countries whereby numbers are high; they could be helped greatly by adding these simple skills & spreading the knowledge, passing it on to the next village, then the next etc etc .

Anyone interested in helping with this PLEASE do contact!

We will be looking for Foot specialists & Therapists to act as ambassadors to help share the trainings & get the treatments out to those in need. Anyone  wishing to be involved please send an email: louise@maxsnaturaltherapies.co.uk
